EXIT
Exit: A Road Trip
Cruel world, quiet rebellion.
Under the neon lights of San Francisco, "Exit: A Road Trip," an exhibition on the roof of an apartment building, becomes a silent rebellion. Here, glowing "Exit" signs stand amid a city full of noise and stress, defying the endless noise around them - the roar of cars, the noise of crowds, the hustle and bustle of life, and providing a haven for souls seeking peace of mind.
In this exhibition, the noise of the surrounding world seems to be amplified, making the bright light of each "Exit" not only a beam of light against noisy reality but also a kind of beacon for inward exploration: escape is a journey into the heart. In this process, visitors are invited to find a balance between the noise of the world and the peace of their hearts and to experience a unique sense of opposition. Each "Exit" symbolizes self-exploration and spiritual liberation, representing both the wounds of the heart and the healing to come. Through its unique visual language and spatial layout, the exhibition "Exit: A Road Trip" offers visitors an opportunity to escape the pressures of everyday life and explore the depths of their hearts. In a hidden corner of the busy city of San Francisco, the exhibition becomes a quiet and profound spiritual rebellion, allowing everyone to find a quiet place in the world's cruel reality.
Exit is Leah Ray's Exhibition Identity Design project at CCA. The project requires selecting a space and designing its Identity for this space. Leah chose a path on the roof of her apartment building as her "space" and designed it as a Road Trip. Surrounded by the noisy hustle and bustle of the city, the illuminated Exit signs on this road guide people into a subtle body and escape from such hustle and bustle.
